Russian Cultural Liaison
The American Red Cross Serving King & Kitsap
Counties, recognized as a premier humanitarian disaster relief organization,
is currently seeking a Russian Cultural Liaison to join our team. This
position offers a flexible work schedule, and requires 16-20 hours per week
for 12 months. Some evening and weekend work may be required for community
outreach.
The Cultural Liaisons’ purpose is to recruit
volunteers King County for the American Red Cross Language Bank, a service
that helps limited English speakers meet basic needs and avoid preventable
emergencies by providing interpreters and translators. The Cultural Liaisons
conduct outreach with and market Language Bank services to communities
speaking Vietnamese and Russian languages.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Attend culturally-specific community
meetings, events and gathering in King County locations to recruit volunteers
in identified language(s) and raise the profile of the Language Bank program.

Make presentations about the Language Bank
and the value of volunteering to targeted groups.

Assist prospective volunteers through the Red
Cross volunteer intake process by arranging interviews in convenient
locations and assisting with the required paperwork.

Represent and advocate for the Red Cross in
the targeted communities.
- Act as an interpreter when needed.
Requirements:

Liaisons will have strong relationships and
credibility in the Russian community.

Excellent public speaking and motivational
skills.

Marketing, public relations, or sales
background preferred.
- Fluency in English and Russian.
- Ability to work well independently.

Ability to travel independently around King
County, Possible Kitsap County.

demeanor.
